Human Form Period
Julian began drawing animals and people. Julian learned to draw eyes, noses, and mouths on his faces. He quickly discovered that he could draw people with arms and legs.

Color Explosion Period
Julian expanded from three crayons to eight markers, nearly tripling his color depth. It took time to control his urge to use every color in every work of art.

During this period, Julian learned to use his crayons. He only had three crayons: red, green, and blue.

Stealing Daddy's Pen Period
This is Julian's earliest artwork period. It consisted mostly of stealing pens off Daddy's desk and scribbling on whatever paper was nearby. This included Daddy's reports, bills, receipts, and the desk itself.
